About this book
Onyeka has always had big hair. She never knew it had superpowers.
Onyeka lives in London and has spent her life trying to tame her huge, curly hair. Then, in a moment of danger, her hair does something impossible, and she learns she has psychokinetic powers. Onyeka is a Solari, one of a group of children with special abilities.
Her discovery takes her to Nigeria and the Academy of the Sun, a secret school where Solari learn to control their powers. But the academy has secrets of its own, and Onyeka soon finds herself caught up in a mystery much bigger than she expected.
The first book in Tola Okogwu's bestselling Onyeka series, this is a funny, exciting story about friendship, self-belief and loving who you are. Perfect for readers aged 8 to 12 and a great gift for young superhero fans.
